Behind the scenes: Preparing a JCM Model Project for official inspection
Prior to the national holiday in Chile, we conducted a site visit to one of the latest photovoltaic projects approved under the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) in the north of the country. The primary objectives of this visit were to inspect the project sites and apply the official JCM stickers.
This pre-inspection visit is a standard procedure conducted prior to the official review by the Japanese Authority (Global Environment Centre Foundation, or GEC). It serves to ensure that all aspects of the project are in compliance with JCM standards and that the site is fully prepared for the formal inspection.
During the visit, we examined the project installations and infrastructure. The application of JCM stickers, while a straightforward task, is significant. These stickers serve as visible indicators of the project's official participation in the JCM program, contributing to the overall documentation and verification process.
These pre-inspection visits are carried out for all newly approved JCM projects as a final preparatory step before the GEC's official inspection. They play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and credibility of the JCM program.
